Drawing Project - Setting up a Basic Template


Objective: Download a basic template drawing file. Open the file, edit the settings and layout and save it as your own custom template for starting AutoCAD drawings.


Instructions:

  1. Download the simple template file and save it with your AutoCAD files on your computer.
  2. Watch the video for directions and hints on completing the project
  3. Complete the project on your computer in AutoCAD, practicing the lesson objectives.

In this Project, you will practice using:

  • File Type .dwt for AutoCAD Template Files
  • File Type .dwg for AutoCAD Drawing Files
  • SAVE AS to save a drawing file as a new template
