This lesson will walk you through the basic workflow of creating a drawing using AutoCAD. The steps include starting a drawing from a template, setting the units and limits for the specific object that will be drawn. Drawing the object and adding dimensions. Modifying the object using our model space editing tools and finally setting up the layout for printing the drawing.

This lesson will give you practice in using modify tools like COPY, FILLET, TRIM ans EXTEND as well as additional Draw Tools like RECTANGLE. The effectiveness of using Modify tools is the ability to quickly select objects in the drawing while using modify commands. AutoCAD give you a number of ways to select objects including Window, Crossing Window as well as additional advanced methods. Knowing how to use the selection tools and the behavior of each of the modify tools will increase your drawing speed and accuracy.
This lesson will give you practice in using modify tools like CHAMFER, MIRROR and OFFSET. These tools further emphasise the drawing process of using the Draw tools to construct the basic shapes and using the modify tools to quickly and accurately edit and duplicate lines or sections of the objects. These modify tools also reinforce the basic mantra of CAD, "never draw anything twice".
This lesson will give you practice in using polygons constructions in your drawings. In order to use the POLYGON command in AutoCAD, you must have a good undertanding of construciton process and the language that AutoCAD uses to define the parameters. Using the POLYGON command with ROTATE create a wide varity of drawing options.
